1/2 cup milk or half n half
1 Tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 gallon plastic zipper bag
1 pint or quart plastic zipper bag
ice cubes

rock or kosher salt
Put the milk, sugar and vanilla in a pint or quart size bag. Of course you know you have to taste it before you seal it.
Fill gallon bag 1/4 to 1/2 full with ice pour some salt over the ice. Place the smaller bag inside the larger bag, seal tightly and SHAKE, SHAKE, SHAKE!!!!! It doesn't take long for it to become soft ice cream.
Note: Regular salt has worked for me also. Flavored milk can also be used, with no sugar or extract added.
*NOTE* FOR SMALLER ONES YOU WILL WANT TO HALF THE RECIPE. LITTLE HANDS DO GET TIRED AND YOU WILL BE THE ONE SHAKE, SHAKE, SHAKIN'!
