I Made Cake Pops with Swiss Rolls!

Out of time to make Cake Pops?  Try using Swiss Rolls.  I have never made cake pops before and the thought of baking a cake, tearing it all apart, adding frosting and then mixing it up again was more than I have time to do.

I have an over abundance of sweets, I’ll tell y’all about this later, so I decided to try making cake pops with swiss rolls.  Super easy!  Even I can make them.  Granted, I haven't  used candy melts this way so you will have to forgive the looks.

Explore with other boxed treats....cupcakes, mini cakes anything with icing and/or filling should work.  Even bags of little donuts..if too dry, add a little canned icing.

Swiss Rolls Cake Pops

Box of Swiss Rolls…6 packages of 2 in each box
(I made three small cake pops from each package)
candy melts
oil to thin candy melts
lollipop sticks

Smash Swiss Rolls with a fork.

Roll into your desired shape.
Freeze 10 minutes or so.
While freezing…melt candy melts according to directions.

Take pops out of freeze, dip lollipop stick in melted candy (I had to add oil to make it thin enough to dip) insert in swiss roll pop.
Sorry about the is acting up and this is the only one that was visible.

Place in freezer for 10 minutes to set candy on stick.
Remove from freezer and dip in candy.  Twice if needed.
I held the pops.. 1 minute or so to set candy.
Place in Styrofoam ball, square or rectangle.
I used an empty coffee container with a foam plate on top until I could arrange them.

Pretty awesome! I was thinking about making some for Halloween, but I might not get around to it. I like this version!

When you get a chance, please stop by my blog. I am hosting another giveaway for Baby Tone DVDs....and thought you might be interested. It is a great gift for a new mom who would love to workout with their baby while bonding. Would love it if you could stop by!

Fantastic idea. I think I will have to try this. I've been wanting to try to make some... but your way seems much easier. Do you think twinkies would work?

Thank you Domina! These are super easy and take no time at all to make. Give them a try and please let me know how they turn out.

My boys are in VPK but I will certainly pass along the link on my page. It sounds Awesome!

Hi Sherry! I would certain try them! I think anything with icing and/or filling should hold up once they are "smashed" together! ;D

Please let me know how they turn out if you decided to make them.

It is Super Easy MamaMonki! I think twinkies would work well! Please let me know if how they turn out. I am still trying to get the hang of the candy but I like the imperfections.

This is an interesting alternative for cake pops. We always have Swiss Cake Rolls around. They're my son's favorite snack. These look delicious. Thanks for sharing on Sweet Indulgences Sunday.
