Mocha Java Sorbet Made In Freezer

I am always looking for new frozen desserts.  It's summer and it's hot!  Okay, we eat frozen goodness all year.  Anyway, I was looking for a different one and found many for mocha java sorbet.   There are four of us that drink morning coffee.  The younger ones are more coffee flavored milk.  We like chocolate, too.  Hmmm, something for us to definitely try!  It turned out great!  Except...seems there is an exception a lot these days, I didn't have semi sweet chocolate squares and used milk chocolate chips instead.  Very chocolaty and yummy but the coffee is an aftertaste.  Use semi sweet if you are looking for more of a coffee taste or replace the water with coffee or both, which is what I will do next time.  Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Iced Coffee From Concentrate

I just went to the refrigerator and realized I am out of Iced Coffee Concentrate!  I saw it on Christy Jordan's Southern Plate a couple of years ago and fell in love with it.

Frozen Iced Coffee

It is so hot and I am craving coffee.  I keep Southern Plate's Home Brew for Iced Coffee in the refrigerator at all times.  I decided to make Frozen Iced Coffee.   Here's how I made it...

Frozen Iced Coffee

1 cup Home Brew*
1/4 cup Condensed Milk
2 cups Ice

Makes 2 1/2 cups.  Since you are making this, go ahead and drink the extra 1/2 cup.  :D

Crush 2 cups ice in blender.
Add 1 cup of Home Brew and give a short whirl.
Find an empty jar you have around waiting to can in and
Enjoy!

* To make home brew..stir 1 cup of freshly ground coffee (I just use already ground) to 4 cups water and let sit 4 hrs to overnight.  Strain through coffee filter.  Keep refrigerated.  Enjoy!

Frozen Coffee Cups...Tastes Like Starbucks On A Stick Also Fantastic as a Coffee Slushee

I have recently discovered the great flavor of Iced Coffee!  Where has this great tasting coffee been?  Where have I been?

My Boys like coffee or rather milk with a splash of coffee.  Since they love coffee, I thought this would be a great afternoon treat for all of us.  For the adults...take the Frozen Coffee Cups out before they are completely frozen for a GREAT Coffee Slushee!

This tastes like Starbucks Ice Cream to me.   I hope you enjoy this....We do!  I'd love to hear what you think.  :)

 Frozen Coffee Cups

I started with Home Brewed Coffee from my friend Christy Jordan's Southern Plate.

To Make Iced Coffee

1 cup of ground coffee beans to 32 oz of water and let sit 8 hours or overnight, or however long you can stand to wait within a decent amount of time.
I just use the ground coffee I have on hand.  :D

Frozen Coffee Cups

1 cup of Home Brew *recipe above*
2 cups of Water
1/2 cup of Condensed Sweetened Milk

Give a couple of whirls in a blender or just stir hard with a whisk.
Pour into 8 5 oz cups (I made 6 full 5 oz cups)
Freeze for an hour or until a craft stick will stay in place
Freeze until completely set
Adults...take out before completely frozen for a Fantastic Coffee Slushee

You can also take out of freezer before completely set and eat it with a spoon!  YUM!
Tastes like Starbucks on a stick!
(please forgive the cherry stained hands and nails ;) )
