Thursday's Treasures Week 87

Sitting in a hospital room with one of my 6 year old twins, has me thinking of long, hot days, laughter, homemade ice cream, the feel of sand between toes, watermelon, picnics, water,  popsicles, bar-b-ques, bonfires and memories to be made, all.....just around the corner.

Less than 3 weeks and ah, sweet Summertime will be upon us!  I am just as excited as the boys!  Do so staycations...going to local places multiple times instead of going to one place for several days.  In Florida, there is always something to do close to home.  ;)

Thursday's Treasures Week 81

I hope your week has been a lovely experience for you.  Each day, week, brings so much into our lives.  Not always the best...but certainly, not the worst.  We take each day and milk the goodness out of it.  To benefit from the riches it delivers to us.  Some days are sweet, delicate cream.  Other days are whey.  Regardless the outcome...we can always take what we are given and make it into something beautiful!  

May your week be the best of the best, the cream of the crops, the sun that makes the rainbow after a gentle shower.

Thursday's Treasures Week 80

Easter is past, Spring Break is over and soon summer will be coming for a nice long, hot visit.  I am looking forward to long hot days spent with my boys.  Waking up early, not because we have to get ready for school but because we want to get started and make every second of each day count.  I can almost feel the heat from the sun, the sand between my toes, bon fires, cook outs, sleeping outside in the tent.......

Thursday’s Treasures Week 79

Hello dear ones!  I hope your week was magnificent!  The boys are on Spring Break this week.   The weekend was warm but this week has been cold.  At least by Florida standards, it is.  It’s okay, we have been having fun regardless.  We make the best of all life shares with us…I hope you do, also.   Happy Easter to those that celebrate!  Are you having family and dear ones over or are you going to visit?  It is always just the five of us….which is okay but I truly wish it were different.  As always, I wish you a gorgeous week filled with all that makes your heart smile.  <3 and hugs!

Thursday's Treasures Week 77

St. Patrick's Day is this week and the first year I haven't made anything for classrooms.  The new school the boys are going to is so much different than their old ones.  Of course, the little ones were Pre-K and the teachers prepared the celebrations for them.   For my oldest, I have always gone over and beyond for his classrooms on all holidays.  St. Patrick's Day was no exception.  Cupcakes topped with gold sugar nuggets.  Jello layered in the colors of the rainbow.  Pistachio pudding when mixed with milk, this done in the classroom, magically turns to green.  Fluffy marshmallows clouds and rainbow rollups that end at a pile of gold (chocolate) coins.  I even used the little cauldrons from Halloween  and filled them with St. Patrick's Day stickers, rings, and more gold coins.  Fun!  Except, I miss doing it this year for the classrooms so I will be doing it just for my boys.  A bah humbug for non St. Patrick's Day celebration!  Have a gorgeous week and I'll see you all next week.

Thursday's Treasures Week 70

I hope ya'll had a fantastic week!  I was busy cooking and lovin' every second of it.  There just isn't enough hours in the day to play and cook so I cook while the boys are at school or while they are at the table doing homework.  Yes, my twins Kindergarten have homework, too.   Between cooking supper and homework. my afternoons and evenings are quite full.  I love having them there, close to me, as I play..I mean, 

cook for them..  It's time for me to do it again.   I can't wait to see what you brought!

Thursday's Treasures Week 69

Another week has pasted.  We are rolling towards the end of January.  February will be here, then school will be out and before you know it...Christmas will be here!!! Stop, wait and back up..it seems I am getting a little ahead of myself.  ~smile~  Anywho, what I started out to say was...I can't believe how fast time is passing by.  We take each day and make the most of it.  Grabbing each moment as if it is the last.  And, it is.  You never get a second chance at the moment that just passed.  So, make every second of every day worthy of the treasured memories that awaits you.  Love and HugS!

Thursday's Treasures Week 68

I think I should have called my blog....Baking For My Boys.  Most of the recipes I post are baked.   I like to cook "real" food but I love to bake.  Recently, I have made Pita Bread, Microwave Pecan Pie and a Sour Cream Pound Cake! Luckily, I do have family and friends I share these with...sometimes...  ~smile~

Thursday's Treasures Week 67

The New Year is upon us and the best is yet to come!  I hope each of you had a fantastic beginning to the amazing year that awaits you!  I spent the day with my boys and made our usual Southern supper of black eyed peas, white rice, mustard greens, pork *a tenderloin this year* and the biggest ole yeast rolls ever!  Have a gorgeous week, you know you deserve it!  Love and Hugs!
