Giant Cinnamon Roll

I love using frozen bread because, well, I am always in a rush!  Seems my days are gone before I know they have even started!

You'll need:  Loaf of frozen bread dough, brown sugar and ground cinnamon.

Last night I got out a loaf of frozen bread.  Sprayed a pan, and the loaf,  and placed in the refrigerator.

This morning I got, made the coffee, got the bread out.  Preheated oven to 350 degrees.  Patted dough into a rectangle.  Smeared margarine over the inside leaving room around the edges.  Sprinkled generously with brown sugar and cinnamon.

Rolled tight, tucking the ends in.  Pinched to seal.

Curled into a cinnamon roll shape on a greased cookie sheet.  Let rise for 15-20 minutes.  Cooked in preheated 350 degree oven for 8 minutes checked.  Topped with butter once it was browned.  Put back in oven and cooked until done...another 5 - 10 minutes or so.

As always, My oven cooks different than yours so check before my earliest times and cook accordingly.

My filling ran out so scooped it off the pan and drizzled over the roll.  Wait, if you can, then cut.  Best eaten with a fork!  <3 and HUgs!

Cinnamon Breakfast Rolls

I took rolls out to thaw for supper, put them in the refrigerator and somehow forgot to cook them.  Yes, I know….it doesn’t seem possible to forget something as delicious as yeast rolls.  But, I did!
We had Chicken and Dumplings.  We ate way too much food.  Piled up on the couches and we all went to sleep.  All except my oldest, he went to bed after school because of a headache…darn allergies!  He woke me up at 8:30…hungry and thinking it was time to get ready for school.  After making him a sandwich, convincing him it was a long time until morning, getting the little ones ready for and put in bed, waking my husband and sending him to bed, getting myself ready for bed…I then sat on the couch again.  Yep, went back to sleep.
I was up at 4 a.m. and knew I couldn’t go back to sleep.  Stiff from sleeping on the couch, I made my way to the kitchen to start the coffee and then to start a load of laundry (this is an ongoing process at our house!)  I looked in the refrigerator and they therewere…the rolls I took out the day before were ready to be baked!  They had were fluffy like the pillow I missed sleeping on last night.  I knew I needed to cook them.  Thinking I had cinnamon sugar made (I keep in on hand) I decided to make cinnamon rolls but didn’t want anything really sweet.  The rolls ended up with swirls of cinnamon sugar inside buttery yeast rolls.  YUMMY!  I hope you enjoy them as much as we did!  <3 and Hugs!

Cinnamon Breakfast Rolls

Ingredients

1 package frozen rolls or you can use a loaf, thawed
1 –2 cups cinnamon sugar;  1 to 4 Tablespoons ground cinnamon *to taste* to 1 cup brown sugar
butter or margarine

Directions

Mix the sugar and cinnamon and place in a bowl or on a plate.
Stretch rolls
Press one side in cinnamon sugar
Roll lengthwise and then fold under
Place in greased pan, mine is 10x12 and let rise until doubled in size.

Cook at 350 degrees in preheated oven.
Check at 10 minutes I think mine were done at 15 minutes.  I’m really going to have to write my recipes down while I make them. ;D
As always..My oven cooks different than yours.  Check at earliest time and adjust as needed.
Slather butter or margarine, all over the rolls.  I keep a stick in the freezer, take out and rub all over the rolls.  YUM!

Enjoy!  <3 and Hugs!

Cinnamon Roll Flower

My Boys wanted Cinnamon Rolls the other day and I wanted to try something different.  So...I got out a tube of grand size biscuits, made icing and cinnamon sugar.  Fixed up the the pieces for My Boys and this is what the result was.  Very good!  A crispy outside and yummy delight inside.  A bit of icing and cinnamon sugar in every bite!  Hope you like it and have fun making them!  ~hugs~

Cinnamon Roll Flower

1 tube of grand size biscuits
2 cups powdered sugar
(I used 2 cups powdered sugar for the ones pictured on the bottom.  The pieces were fatter,  easier, and stickier,  for My Boys to handle.  ~smiles~
I used 1/2 cup powdered sugar for thinner icing....1st photo)
2 Tablespoons milk
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract, optional
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Preheat oven to 325 degrees

Grease muffin pan

Make Powdered Icing by mixing the powdered sugar, milk and vanilla (optional).  It will be thick...to thin, just add a drop of milk at a time.  Set aside

Make Cinnamon Sugar by mixing the cinnamon and brown sugar together.  Any left over keeps well in a zipper type plastic bag.

Stretch the biscuits out, not to thin.
Spread icing on one biscuit, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
Top with another biscuit that is also topped with icing.  Seal edges.
Cut into strips, then into shapes, sealing edges.
Grease hands a tad.  Start with a piece to fill the bottom of the cup.
Put strips around the sides and work you way up.  Use triangle shapes to resemble a flower or other fun shapes.

Makes 5 so you may want to double the recipe.

Bake for  12-16 minutes

First picture was made using thinner icing.  Either use less powdered sugar or more milk.

Enjoy!

*I'm thinking easy here....Why not use a tube of cinnamon rolls, stretch, put icing  on, fold over, seal, and create!*

I'd Love to see pictures of the ones you and your children make!  ~hugs~

This one was made with thin icing,

Boys made these...sticky fun!
