1 1 /2 cups strong coffee, I used left over from the morning
1/2 cup water...I am going to skip the water next time and use all coffee
6 1 oz squares unsweetened chocolate, chopped up small
1/4 to 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips or 2 1 oz squares
2 cups granulated sugar
Put chopped chocolate in a bowl.
Heat coffee, water and sugar until sugar is dissolved.
Pour 1 cup hot liquid over chocolate and let sit 5 minutes.
Whisk until all chocolate is melted and smooth.
Add remaining liquid to chocolate.
Stir until smooth.
Pour into a freezer proof pan. I used a stainless steel 15 x 13 or 16 x 12 pan, it was big whatever size it was.
Let freeze until solid. It still took 4 to 5 hours for mine but the freezer was opened
very often!
Take out of freezer and break into chunks.
Put in food processor and pulse until smooth. I used a small chopper and did it in batches. You can also but in bowl and use a mixer, beating until smooth.
Eat soft serve if you cannot wait, like my boys. Or, put in freezer until frozen so it is scoopable . Enjoy!
